Lionel's 2011 Final Challenge!!!

Hi guys, today I was both inspired and (a bit) disappointed from this guy's book: Mecha Zone by David White (figure out the reasons yourselves pls). So the topic for this time round is of cos: MECHA.

If you do not have any images, you may use this image instead.

Requirement is to take a vehicle(s) (or mix around), design and draw the transformed mecha version. In short, it is like designing your own transformer.

Design Language: Any
Design Style: Any
Time Period: Any
Submission Documents: Any
Task is open to interpretation

One thing to mention is that I really do not like some tasks to have no deadline... this promotes procrastination... The deadline for this task is 31 December 2011, 2359. You can submit anything you have, be it silhouettes, exploration, line drawings or PP(s).

Any suggestions pls share your thoughts, thanks.

Steam Punk Lingerie Prop: Lionel

Here's my version: A babydoll with "peek-a-boo" and integrated pump at the waist to the bra.
The toughest part is probably deciding that you have done enough research :)

Steam Punk Lingerie Props

So here it is my take with the lingerie design just to kick start the whole thing, and its hard as hell lolz... not to mention drawing anatomy.. sigh female as well.. sigh..... must draw more spaceship and mecha to improve... hehehe.

Problem i face when drawing them, if i put alot of steampunk element the design looking more like power armored stuff.. and probably heavy and uncomfortable to wear, even the real corset are not comfortable to wear .

The only functionality i can think off probably some pressurize air tech to help tighten user hip and bring up the chest area and good reason to place those knob and valve piping image 2-3.

The last image i kinda thinking of those high class Victorian era brothel, where the client need to get the key and use the key to open the lock at her back.

Finally a challenge worthy of your attention eh. Soooooooo........... what is it you say??

wait for it....... waitttttttttttttt.................. waaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiitttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

the challenge is to design a steampunk..... LINGERE, yes dudes a lingere, the stuff that girls wear to look sexy.. or maybe some of u wear to look sexy.. errr... watever!! :P

Anyway u all know the drill, toenails, color, line, perspective, prod painting, draw through, whatever as long as it looks sexy when a sexy girl wear ur design. And it must be done with steampunk element in it, thats all.

Been procrastinating lately. Saw Lionel's post and force myself to work on something tonight. Nothing really concrete, just trying to settle the shot and composition before refining the subject matter.(i hope I can get back to it later)

My idea of the book cover. Couple of things I want to inform of why the design change:

1) The original design looks a lot like a popular anime character.
2) Can't think of anything else..

Anyways comments would be appreciated, also UD Mount here I come!!!!

Was trying out a diff style of depicting him and just painting practice.

This Weeks Theme

Alright, This week's theme will be to design an undead mount worthy of your undead character.

Pls do not limit yourself... My suggestion is that the mount can be anything... creature (undead/ alive), props (machines, chariots etc) and even environment if you can pull it off... The crazier the idea, the better! The only requirement might just be that the mount needs to be 'in relation' with your undead character. [ Lionel ] 

You can do it as a production painting to show your design or do it as you had done for the character. The presentation style is entirely up to you.

New Theme Delays.

Hey guys, sorry for not keep to schedule with the themes.

I was unable to keep to the schedule last week and still have not touched my piece since the last post. Been rather busy with packing my stuff since im moving and at the same time im catching up on my other work responsibilities.

I have'nt discussed with Darius what the next theme will/should be yet nor has anything been posted as of yet.

So i decided to get ideas for upcoming theme from you guys instead! 

So post in comments the theme you would like and i will use them for the upcoming weeks :D

and i will try get the book cover done asap as well :)

This is my BookCover WIP. First of many posts. :)

Hi 7 guys! Lionel asked about the deadline, for now let's try to make this a weekly thing. Just try to upload your images by the stated deadline. If your schedule is too tight we can then extend the deadline accordingly after-which depending on the response and theme. Unfinished work or WIPs are welcomed as well. The purpose is to keep this blog alive, learn from each other's process, as well as to do something that you might not be able to do at your day job to keep yourself motivated and inspired.  You are free to comment even if you are not able to participate~ (which I might not for this week T-T) Most importantly we can try to exchange ideas and make this fun! No restriction of style unless otherwise stated. It could be chibi, stylized, realistic, comic you name it. You can even make a sculpture of your design or share some useful links! I have thought of other subsequent themes for the next few weeks and feel free to contribute ideas too! :D

Alright as suggested by Darius! Lets do a book cover based of the Undead S.saint design. Imagine What it would be like if your character had a story to back him up!!

Think about how it would look best as a book cover, Options are boundless.
